Well buying, and not one I wrote obviously. Although I have always wanted to do some small story projects, and some poetry, so watch this space *note to self – must keep on 1 thing at a time rather than drifting off into something else, now talking about drifting….*
Cookbooks, in general, are normally bought for me (as presents) or I like the chef. I rarely read them all, and only recently actually been trying out the recipes. Me thinks I must *do better* here. I am currently reading “Michel Roux: A Life In The Kitchen” which I purchased for £25 (now seeing on Amazon for £17.50!) – but hey this was signed and it will always remind me of our 10th anniversary and what a fantastic evening (in my opinion anyhoo) that was. This book is quite interesting in that it has some fabulous recipes, and also has some great stories about Michel’s life to date, including writings about the Roux family, French royalty and politicians, and how the restaurants started off etc.
So, this new book, Baked: New Frontiers in Baking (Hardcover), looks like its got some fantastic baking recipes in (note the new theme here?). The book is filled with some gooey, calorific examples including bakery favourites like The Sweet & Salty Cake, the Peanut Butter Crispy Bar, the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf, and Cheddar Chipotle Biscuits.
What with all this cooking, baking and blogging will I ever get time to eat anything? I’m practically fading away as I type (well maybe got a few more hours before I need a drip!) – will post more with some pics etc once I receive the book in the post (hopefully this week)
